Landlords have a duty of care to annually maintain and service the gas appliances they provide they're tenants.
Also many home insurance companies invalidate cover of any claim without proof of an annual boiler / gas appliance check.
Get either a basic gas safety check carried out or a more thorough appliance service for peace of mind for all involved. Personally we would always advise on going with a full appliance service as this then covers all the requirements needed to comply with a landlord's obligations from a gas safe perspective.
